06 Feb Stink Bugs in the House
Many people have been calling and stopping by the office asking what these insects are and why are they seeing them in the winter. It is an easy answer. These stink bugs moved into your home in the fall and have been overwintering. Changes in the temperature (usually when it gets warmer) will awaken these insects and they will fly to well-lit areas and windows seeking a way out. The good news is, these stink bugs do not breed inside and they do not bite. Come springtime, if they don’t make it back outside, they will die. They are considered a nuisance pest but because many of them can enter your home at once, it can be very unsettling. The best time to spray for these insects is the fall before they start to move in. You should also remove air conditioner units and be sure all door sweeps and window screens are in good repair.
