My co-worker Donna White made it very clear that she was allergic to bees when they were flying around us outside one day. Well, as long as we are inside and there are no bees she is safe, right? Donna started complaining the other day she “felt funny.” “I feel like my skin is crawling” she said. Patches of red appeared on her arms and face. It’s winter, I am pretty sure there are no bees right now. Then as she reached for her lip balm it came to her… BEES WAX, ITS MADE WITH BEES WAX! Yes, the bees wax in her lip balm was giving her an allergic reaction. I thought I would share this because it is a hidden danger to those allergic. This reaction did not take place right away, she had been using the lip balm for about a week. The repeated applications made her more and more sensitive each time she applied it. I hope we can spread the word and help others. Please share this info with anyone you know who is allergic to bees!
