Wildlife Removal
Fords Hometown Services are licensed by the state to provide wildlife removal and exclusion. We use humane trapping methods to remove skunks, muskrats, raccoons, weasels, red and gray foxes, porcupines, voles, red, gray and flying squirrels, opossums, chipmunks, rabbits, woodchucks, snapping turtles, weasels, moles and certain species of bats.
Many species of wildlife can adapt to habitats altered by humans. Raccoons, squirrels and foxes, for example, can be found in greater numbers in the suburbs than in similar sized areas of forests. They capitalize on the abundant supply of man-made foods and shelters found in suburbia. Here they can survive and reproduce.
This adaptability brings wildlife in close proximity to people. Most often, conflicts with wildlife can be avoided by eliminating any food source that attracts unwanted animals. Examples include birdseed, suet, garbage, fruit, compost, vegetable gardens or pet food that is left exposed.
Blocking off access to sheltered areas (attics, chimneys, crawl spaces beneath decks and sheds) can solve problems with denning animals.
