We want to remind everyone that stinging insect nests are very well established this time of the year and can be dangerous to people and pets. Hidden nests can be large and contain hundreds of members. We don't recommend homeowners trying to treat these nests themselves due to the risk of injury and serious reactions to the sting of these relentless hornets and wasps. It is a good idea to take some time and just look around your yard and see if the tell-tale activity of hornets/wasps traveling in and out of their nest is visible. This activity may be into a ground nest or into a tree or shrub in the yard. Just walking or running a lawn mower near one of these areas can cause vibration and upset the nest. Once the stinging insects go into defense mode, a pheromone is given off alerting the nest that it is under attack and get your stingers ready. The risk of getting stung multiple times is the greatest this time of the year. Please call us if we can be of assistance with any stinging insect issue. Call today 1-800-649-9992
